The Noordermarkt is one of best markets to get stuck into on a saturday. At night it’s pretty much deserted but it features some of the best views across the Brouwergracht and Prinsengracht. The perfect start for the route!
We’ll continue our night walk to what is probably my favourite part of Amsterdam, especially at night. The Jordaan is an amazing old neighbourhood that kept most of its charm. The bridges and its small canals are legendary and it’s just big enough to get lost (in a good way!)
If you’re into art & antiques you’ve hit a homerun with the Spiegelkwartier. A lot of small and big art galleries sell their work here. At night their windows are beautifully lit and at the end of the street there’s a fantastic view at the Rijksmuseum with lighted trees!
This is where we pass towards the second half of our route. It’s near Amstelveld and the Amstel, the river that flows through Amsterdam and a collection of small bridges going everywhere.
5. Amstel & Skinny Bridge
The Amstel with its famous skinny bridge is one of the highlights of the route. It’s truly a spectacular collection of soft and dreamy lights!
The terribly nicknamed ‘lovelock bridge’ has much more to offer than locks symbolising a strange materialisation of love. Nevertheless! It features a phenomenal view over the water and a fitting end to our night walk along the canals!
We want to stimulate fresh ideas & collaborations between visitors, local people and small businesses. From designing custom petanque boules to bootcamps in the park, making something new happen works better with others 🙂 Send in your idea and we’ll make the introduction!
